I'm still on my trial version and like the radio but my chosen presets keep disappearing every time I stop the car. Is this true for the trial version only?

Thanks,
Lyn

I am on my last week of the trial version. My stations for XM and Radio are still programmed from day one.

Does the radio remember AM or FM presets? There is a full time power lead to the unit that maintains the memory of all presets. If there is a problem with the lead, it would be like disconnecting the battery every time you turn the car off. All presets, AM, FM, XM, would be lost. On most cars, I think this lead is part of a smaller accessory wiring harness directly connected to the positive battery post (usually crimped to the main cable). If so, it may be loose. If you are only losing XM presets, you may have a bad head unit. Regardless, this sounds like a new car covered under warranty. I would have the dealer resolve the problem for free.

I believe you are switching keys. When you switch keys, it remembers the presets of the specific key. Think of it as his/her keys, that remembers the preset buttons when that key turns the ignition. Good luck.

no problem badger. The Caretaker is full of useless information. I hope the key trick was the problem. I'm a lifetime subscriber on my Vibe, but won't sign up for XM on the ET, unless they offered me perhaps $300 lifetime as a "second lifer."
