Unhappy 2005 Hyundai Terracan 4WD problem

Hi
My 2005 Hyundai Terracan 4WD has been making these huge shuddering, bangs under the front of the car- almost like I have hit a huge tree stump on the road. It usually does this a minimum of 3 times over a 7-10km distance. Sometimes if just totally stalls after doing this. Great when on a highway doing 100km an hour.
Other times it just stalls when idling or when going slow in a shopping centre. Takes 3 attempts to get it started again.
My car has now been in the Hyundai workshop for nearly 5 weeks now.
No one seems to know what it is doing. Replaced the battery, replaced the cable between the alternator and the battery. Have done the flight mode testing which shows it is electrical but that keeps changing.
it is terrifying to drive as I never know if it is going to stop working on the highway with big trucks around me.
Please- any help would be so much appreciated.

I would be very suspicious of the 4 wheel drive system.
Could you please explain ,
testing shows it is electrical, but keeps changing?
I ask this because I am wondering how something electrical can produce a banging?

Hi Hanky
The service people at Hyundai said when they put the fight mode sensor on it shows up different links. But they are not certain what that means. They said they are working in conjunction with the Hyundai manufacturer.
The bangs are almost like explosions. They reckon they have tested the air input and output when I asked if it was something like what happened when cars were changed from petrol to gas.
it will be 5 weeks tomorrow and still no solution. If it is the master computer, would that be expensive?
thanks
Did

It is possible the servicing agency has not had many calls for this type problem, so it will take longer to pin down the cause.

Thank you Hanky. Fingers crossed they can fix it as it is a beautiful car. Has only just over the 100k kilometres and always been serviced by Hyundai.
