I’m a new Hyundai Tucson owner 2016 with a non turbo 4 banger. I’m want to clean the throttle body/plate because it looks like a smothered freshly painted mess. My big question is do you need a high end scanner to reset the computer or plate to get it to run right? Other then the throttle body this is a great running vehicle.

I would not move the throttle plate manually
Use the accelerator pedal.
Find a piece of wood or pipe and use it to depress the gas pedal
This should open the plate or position the plate to where you want it
That way its setting doesn't get messed up

There is a special coating on the throttle blade. Don't use anything other than "Throttle Body Cleaner" when cleaning the body or a plain dry rag.
