Hyundai i40 ignition and key problem
Can anyone advice please? key in ignition wont turn either way, tried wiggling it and spraying it nothing. Can't move car and it has electronic handbrake. Suggestions please as should be going away Thurs and need the car for towing!

You may have already done this, but need to ask.
Did you try turning the steering wheel hard against the stop in one direction or the other and holding it there while trying to turn the key ? Sometimes pressure against the steering wheel when parked will prevent you from being able to turn the ign key. |
Yes tried that and no luck

Can you move gear selector out of park and then back in?
Then jack up front end of vehicle to see if that releases key? |

You should still be able to shift the gear selector? And jacking up the front wheels should release the steering wheel to help release the key If none of that works then the key is stuck in the cylinder Taking a small hammer and tapping the key might release the key But, in any case, the lock needs to be replaced |
