Matrix 1.6 2003 ok?
Hi,
I have posted in this forum a week ago about an Hyundai Accent, where i got some valuable feedback. Unfortunately some disagreement with the seller took place, so i did not buy it.
Well, now i am looking at this:
Hyundai Matrix 1.6 Gasolin with manual transmission from 2003. It has been running 160.000 km. and all services are ok. I am very impressed with the driving capabilities of this car, and the great sight from the seats.
Is there anything special to pay attention to before buying this car? I got some good general advices in my last post, so i am thinking about specific issues with this model, if any?
I am buing at a dealer, so there is 6 months of warranty, according to the Danish laws on car sales, so i guess that it would be a good choice.
I wonder if the engine is the same as in the Accent 1.6 GT?
Thank you very much.
Jens

No, the 1.6 in the Accent is the Alpha II engine (G4ED; 110-hp). The gasoline 1.6L in the Matrix is the Beta engine (G4GR; 116-hp). It's similar to the 2.0L Beta in the Elantra and Tiburon. My personal opinion is the Beta is a slightly superior engine to the Alpha.
