Default 08' Santa Fe A/C Odor

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this and have never posted anything on here so bare with me please.

I just bought my 2008 Santa Fe about 6 months ago, and this past week I started getting a musty odor smell coming thru the a/c vents in my car. It gets really bad when I turn my a/c on, and it won't go away. I called the dealership and they said I should get a new hepa filter put in my car and that it should be replaced once a year. Since I just got this car a few months ago I don't see how I can already need a new filter.

Has anyone had any problems/smells from their a/c vents?

Thanks!

It's a 2008, which means it was built one year ago.

You can replace the filter yourself and save $$$.

1.
Open the glove box (B).
Lower the glove box down completely by removing the glove box stopper (A) to the glove box.

2.
Remove the glove box(B) from the left(A).

3.
Remove the filter cover (A) with pushing the ****.
4.
Replace the air filter (B).
