Hi everybody,

I bought a used 2004 Santa Fe base model. I love the car but it did not come with a key fob, and I haven't been able to figure out if it has keyless entry functionality at all. Were any '04 Santa Fe's sold without this capability? I found a few websites that say the remote entry is optional, but I don't know if that means they just don't give you the key fob or if the ETACS unit is actually less functional.

Yes it's optional. If your Santa Fe was not originally equipped with that option, you can't just buy a fob and have it work. You'll have to look into an aftermarket kit if you want keyless entry.
