Question 2009 Santa Fe GLS 2.7LV6

Hi,
when I drive a little sportive with my Santa Fe the ESC OFF light illuminates and stays on during the ride. After ignition off and a restart the ESC OFF light is extinguished again. Does some one have an idea what this could be or is it just the limitation of the system?

The ESC gets some of it's info from the vehicle wheel speed sensors and if one of them is not working correctly it could produce a code and light.. There should be a code in the computer memory pointing to the faulty sensor if that is the case.

Hi Hanky, thanks for the response and yes understood your answer. I have no OBD2 reader at hand so that I will check later. Would the ABS symbol light also be on when one of the sensors is at fault?

The problem may not be critical enough to throw a code AND light , but the system is picking it up. Good a place as any, to start.
Places like Autozone will get the code(s) if any at no cost. If possible, make sure/verify, before you buy anything

Led brake lights could also cause problems with ESC and cruise control
