Default 2011 Sante Fe Headlight

I purchased a 2011 Sante Fe recently and love the car with one exception, low beam headlights. This can be seen easily driving at night on a road with little light. The beam of light that comes from the headlight seems to be blocked horizontally from shining above a certain height. Regular driving on a level road is not much of a problem. Normally the beam of light is blocked at the height of the hood which is hard to get used to since you like to see above that height while driving.
Driving on a slightly hilly road is where the problem is more intense. As the vehicle moves up and down, the beam of light can cut your visibility down to as short as 20 feet in front of the vehicle and usually cuts visibility about 50 feet in front of the vehicle. Driving at 35 mph or higher, this creates a dangerous condition. Not only does this prevent you from seeing what is in front of you beyond that distance, but it also prevents you from seeing the sides of the road. The light is also blocked from the front of the car to about 8 feet in front of the car.
I have had the lights checked at Hyundai and the response was they are in spec. I"m not sure what spec they are talking about. The high beams work great but obviously I cannot drive using high beams while cars are coming towards me. In the 40+ years I have been driving, I have not seen a problem like this. My 2008 Jeep works fine as does my 2012 Ram. I feel the issue is a design problem in the headlight assembly that prevents the light from shining above a certain height.
I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and what was done to correct it. If I had driven the santa fee at night on a test drive, I would not have purchased the vehicle.

There is nothing wrong with your lights, the are functioning properly. Unlike your Jeep and Ram, modern headlights have a distinct cutoff to them that is done to prevent other drivers from being blinded. And NO it's NOT a dangerous condition. It's worse to blind all oncoming traffic and the car in front of you. Trust me, I've been blinded buy oncoming Jeeps and Rams many times.
