Question 2017 Santa Fe Sport 2.4L Cruise Issue

When we have the cruise on and go up an incline or go down an incline the transmission will down shift 3 gears and the engine RPMs will go up to around 5000, engine sounds like it is going to come apart. If you take the cruise off everything is fine, the transmission shifts like it should. Driving mode settings does not make a difference on this issue (ECO, Normal or Sport). If I am on a flat stretch of road and have cruise set and bump up the speed a couple MPH using the switch on the steering wheel the transmission will downshift 2 to 3 gears to increase your speed that 1 to 2 MPH. We have had it back to the dealer for this issue, they reflashed the ECM but no help. Dealership also said that as long as the engine is not red lining it is not a problem, BS. I have seen a couple complaints about the same issue online but they did not ever mention a fix. Has anyone encountered this issue and what was done to fix it?? Any input would be helpful.
