Default Towing with 2006 2.7 Santa Fe

I will be towing a enclosed utility trailer this weekend. It is 1000lbs. empty. With my camping gear I should be around 1300-1500 lbs. Will my Sant Fe handle this? New at towing and a little nervous.

Well, looking at page 2-26 of the owners manual:

2WD or 4WD, no ABS, no trailer brakes = 1200-lbs, 120-lbs tongue weight
2WD or 4WD, ABS, no trailer brakes = 1500-lbs, 150-lbs tongue weight

Default No Problem

My 2006 2.7 handled that loaded trailer like champ! Didn't even get a little warm and it was hot outside. At times I wished it had a little more power on those Adirondack Mts. but I worked around it. Very pleased with my "little" SUV.
