2019 Sonata Limited AEB Issue
Hello to the Hyundai community! I have a 2019 Hyundai Sonata Limited, less than 50K miles (just under, which seems a bit suspicious, lol). My wife called and said it was giving an error:
Check Auton. Emergency Braking system. Has this nice little icon with a car right behind another, with a big star b/t the cars, implying a crash safety feature. I took the negative wire off the battery for several hours, still get the error after re-hooking it up. I notice in the menus that both this AEB and the cruise control # of cars in front of you thing are both grayed out, implying I have a sensor issue. I've been trying to locate the sensor to see if this is something I can replace myself, all I can figure is that is has to be on the front of the car somewhere. The only sensors I see are right below the rear view mirror, I cleaned the window but can't really get to the sensor without taking things apart.
A}, is this something I can fix without taking it into a dealership, B) can anyone help verify where this sensor actually is on a 2019 Sonata, or C} light the car on fire?
Yeah, C is not an option, just kidding. Help!

On the 2019 Hyundai Sonata, the AEB sensor is usually located behind the front grille or integrated into the front bumper area, not behind the rearview mirror. Try cleaning the sensor area and making sure nothing is obstructing it. If the issue persists, it’s best to visit a dealer or mechanic for proper diagnosis and recalibration.
