Question Antitheft recall upgrade

As you well know, theft rates for the Hyundai Sonata and others are quite high because of poor design. So over a year ago I went out and had a simple Viper antitheft alarm and ignition cut-off installed on my 2019 Sonata.
Today I had the Hyundai recall software upgrade installed. The service tech was unsure if I still needed my Viper system. Because of the extra fob I'd like to remove it if possible.

Does anyone know how the Hyundai antitheft software works?
Is it as effective as the Viper system?

Thanks!

Viper would probably know? Or installer who u trust. Make sure whatever alarm u have has glass breaking sensors. There is a sticker on the door windows if it's OEM. Even with a keyless model like my 2016 hybrid, Some major ins companies would not insure any Kia or Hyundai models.

those viper alarms are a scam. i have a 2013 sonata, never had a problem, i still use the MEGA club, even in mexico with no problem. i am going to get the upgrade next week at the dealership, but dont really need it. hyundai comes with an alarm already, you dont need the viper stuff. its lame. get rid of it, or get a refund
