Default Automatic Climate Control (2009) Question

With respect to the heating/AC system with automatic climate control, I'm confused about something. I like to use the system without the heat or AC on-- in other words, just the fan without any added heat or cooling. It seems like you should be able to do this with the system; however, for some reason when I take it off of AUTO and just turn the fan on (without pressing the AC button), the target internal temperature that's used by the automatic system shows up on the screen. I can't tell if this is having any effect on the incoming air or not.

Another thing that's confusing is that it seems like when the system is in AUTO mode, and the AC is being used to cool the interior down to the target temperature, the AC light is not lit. It seems like it only goes on when it's invoked manually.

I find if the vehicle is started on the fan setting it is OK. but once you make changes it goes to heat or cool. Had it for a year and still stumped on system.

Have you read the owners manual?

No, that is a good place to start. I saw other threads after post that the A/C is pushed 2 times after AUTO is set to cancel and run fan only. I'll try that. Has worked on fan before but not sure how that was happening.
Thanks to this site, I avoided the manual
