The CD-player has no obvious control for pausing. Perhaps there is a button combination, or sequence that will accomplish a pause during playback. Many times during an audio book, a pause would be welcome.

 

turn the radio off. it'll pause as long as you like. that's what i do for my audio books.

 

Well, duh. That certainly works, and, the power switch ought to be good for as many cycles as any other button. Not an elegant solution, but it certainly works. Having tried that, this afternoon, I also found that pushing the CD button will cause the system to power on.
