Why, Hyundai engineers, why did you design rigid mirrors into the body of a '06 Sonata GLS...

After yet another close call with the garage door frame, I want to tear off these inflexible excrescencies (carefully, though. And with a socket wrench), and replace both with aftermarket folding mirrors. Maybe heated, 'cause that would be nice.

Problem is, despite lots of searching of the interwebs I can't seem to locate this product I see so clearly in my imagination.

Anyone have some insight into this idea? Does such a product exist? ...and if, so, care to post a link?

 

Sometimes you might get some idea of what is available by checking with a Hyundai dealership parts dept.. Heated mirrors are great, but will require some addl wiring to make this happen. It's not impossible, but would be a very rewarding project when completed..
