Replacing Factory Radio... Mounting kit required?

Replacing the factory radio… do I need to get Mounting Kit or will it fit directly into the original spot? And if so, what is the best way to take it out without breaking anything J

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative(-) battery terminal.[/align]

2. Remove the center facia panel and disconnect the wire connectors.[/align]

3. Remove the 4 screws holding the audio unit then remove the audio assembly.[/align]

4. Disconnect the power connector and antenna cable jack from the audio unit.[/align]

5. Installation is the reverse of removal.[/align]

If you buy the right size head unit, it should fit without any modification. Hyundai offered two different sized factory stereos for this car, a single DIN that fits a 2" opening and a double DIN that fits a 4" opening. You will need to buy a unit that matches the hole (although I think Hyundai does or did sell a cubby hole filler box to put a 2" unit in a 4" hole) and you will need to reuse the factory mounting brackets that are screwed onto the sides of the original unit. An Iso-DIN unit will also fit, but will leave a slight gap around the edge since you will not be using the slip case mounting bracket that comes with the Iso-DIN unit. Buy a unit from a place like Crutchfields and they will make sure that they will sell you astereo that fits.

excellent, the factory radio is the 2" version... so my aftermarket one (which i've had for a year already) should fit perfect.
