Sonata 2013 EPS does not return steering to center
My father bought a new Hyundai Sonata Limited Edition 2013. When i drove it I found that the steering does not return to center like every other car we have ever owned. For example, if I am going around a cuve, and turning the wheel a little left, normally I release pressure on the steering wheel as I exit the curve and it returns to normal, on this car I have to turn the wheel to center manually by turning it the opposite way. I emailed the sales person about this and she said that is normal due to the electronic power steering. I took a look around the web and I can't find where that it states not returning to center is normal if a car has electronic steering. Can any one verify that this is normal.

Thanks for the info, I would expect the torque sensor to realize that I am no longer applying torque to the steering column and thus stop assisting. This would let the positive caster of the car return the steering to center. I still have not read on any authoritative website that says EPS means no return to center of steering. I'm sure I can get use to it, but it seems pretty annoying on a long trip.
