A year ago when i took my Sonata in for a 30k service,one of the major things was replacing the tranny fluid and filter. I took it into a non-hyundai shop that was well recommended in my area,long story short,the tech told me that the filter was in the trans casing which needed to be disassembled,8 hour job for 700 dollars needless to say i declined. Does this sound right to anybody?

 

The trans filter doesn't need to be replaced, just the fluid. Yes, the filter is inside the trans and requires the trans to be disassembled.
