Default when to change plugs & wires

I now own a 2002 Sonata with 80K miles. Is it time to change spark plugs and wires? I think the car still has the original plugs and wires. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

The are supposed to be good for 100k. It wouldn't hurt to pull a plug and see how they are doing. Also, wires don't wear out like in the old days. You probably don't need to change anything. They are supposed to be platinum plugs. Did you change the timing belt?

Yes, the previous owner changed the timing belt at 60K. He opted out of the other services offered at 60K, but did the most important thing, the timing belt. Is there anything else I should consider doing, or inspect, at this point, since the car is at 80K?

Thank you very much for the info about the spark plugs.

If you just want to be sure, you could change the air filter, the fuel filter, and do a trans flush and a coolant flush.
