Cruise control problem?
2007 Tiburon, auto., 4 cyl. 37,500 miles
Here lately, when the cruise is engaged, and climbing a hill, the car downshifts into "passing gear", but never upshifts back, even after reaching the correct speed. It just goes along at the set speed, but in the lower gear, until I hit the brake to disengage the cruise. Poking the gas pedal does nothing to fix it.....only disengaging the cruise will work. Not talking about STEEP hills here, just normal ones on a rural hiway.
It downshifting is not a problem, the problem is that it does not upshift back. Ever.
Dealer is no help, they cannot recreate the problem, since they are in an urban area and cannot get it up to a cruise speed for any length of time, plus there are no hills to climb at cruise speed in a city.
Does anyone have any ideas about this?
Thanks in advance!
