Hi Everyone....

I have a 2007 Hyundai Tucson GLS, 4-CYLIN, 2.0 and my alternator has gone bad. My father has removed the old alternator but we had trouble getting the new one installed. We purchased the ToughOne Alternator - part# 12466 but we are having a hard time getting the belt back on. We couldn't find a diagram either. Any suggestions with how to get the belt in place?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't it be great if car dealers would give owners a book that listed that kind of information? They could call it an "Owners Manual". That sure would be helpful.

Bounce37421 we did a lot of forcing (and I believe my dad even did some grinding) to get the belt on for the ToughOne Alternator - part# 12466 but when we got the car started I took it over to shop to perform alternator test and it was still failing to charge the battery.

The guy at shop recommended trying a different alternator so we exchanged it. The guy also looked at the sticker inside my door which said "manufactured in 2006" and he gave me a 2006 Hyundai Tucson alternator instead. It was like night and day with the new alternator it slipped into place easily and the belt went on without having to fight it..... So even though all my paperwork with the car said 2007, it was the 2006 that really fit!

I wonder if that will be the fix for you too?
