Engine Rattle between 1400-2000 rpm @load

Hi.
I got a 2005 Tucson 2.0L petrol. Done 135.000 km.
For some time now it have started to make a very high rattle (As gears have slack) after getting warm and under mild load when rpm is between 1400-2000. If I press the pedal deep so engine give "full" power, the rattle stops in 1 sec (Still under 2000 rpm). When starte of cold engine, no rattle sound.
I have changed oil as a test to a 20W-50 to see if higher viscosity could make any diff. No change.
Have read that non-OEM oil filter might be an issue, so have ordered from Korea to make sure I have a original fit.

Anyone that experienced the same?

Made a check of the OCV filter and the CVVT valve, if they could be a cause of the rattle. The parts looked clean, only a few small aluminium particles in valve and filter, and some greasy black residue from old oil. Cleaned them well, and checked the operation of the valve by connection 12V to it. The valve operated faster after cleaning.
After reinstallation, the rattle was not as high as before, but I might not drive long enough and it is a bit colder weather as well that cools down the engine slightly more.
Next to check is the auto timing chain tentioner that is operated by oil pressure as well.

Are you crazy! That oil is WAY to thick. You are creating more problems with that thick oil. Drain and refill with the correct weight.

That is probably your problem.

Hi NovaResource.

Thanks for the service bulletin. I willl put in the new Hyundai filter as soon as it arrive.

For the oil, I put in 20W-50 as a test (And the engine was still a bit warm). Now I run 10W-30, so should be fine.

The OEM Hyundai oil filter arrived to day, only one week after I ordered it from Korea. (Korea => Norway just one week shippment)
Will fit the new filter tomorrow, and hope that fix the rattling with warm engine.

The OEM filter made a big improvement. Almost no rattle, but it can still be heard a short periot up hill and at a specific throttle pos and engine load. But now it is to live with, before it sounded as a old diesel engine.

So, the learning is, Hyundai is addicted to OEM oil filter.
