Unhappy HELP! Clunk then swishy rear end?!?

Hi folks,

I was driving my 2005 Tucson last night and on the way home as I took a turn I hear a clunk in the rear end and then my *** end got really "swishy"...I have no other way to describe it! It's like it is sliding around the corner and then comes to an abrupt stop, it's the weirdest feeling. When I jiggle the steering wheel the rear end feels really loose and "swishy"...

What did I break? Nothing is hanging that I can see, corners are bizarre right now...is this safe to drive?

The only think I can think of is a Sway Bar...am I right? Is this a big (expensive) job to fix if it is?

Thanks for ANY help!

Jason

It could be a stabilizer but you need to get underneath the rear of the vehicle and see if you can find anything broken.

Would a stabilizer being broken cause it to sway back and forth continuously as I drive? Only thing I can compare it too is someone wiggling their butt as they walk...lol

It could give the vehicle that feeling and I believe that the feeling you are getting is typically described as body roll.

Ok...I'm going to look under the car after work this evening...it's the strangest thing I've ever felt in a car.

I do believe it's an axle...uugh...

I can literally push the side of the car sideways. It's right rear...

How bad should this hurt?

Should the car wobble because of this??
