Default TPMS Question

well, the weather keeps changing like crazy here in texas... cold one day hot as hell the next... The TPMS light comes on then blinks...ok so my question is.... why is it blinking when ive been driving over an hr already? i know it comes on when psi is low, i keep it about 35, tires rotating rises pressure blah blah, just dont see why it would come on after the tires r warm already...

also, does anyone know what the "eco" actually does? lol cuz i dont notice much of a mpg difference

Which light is blinking? The "TPMS" light or the "(!)" light? It might just be a bad sensor.

Eco mode changes the fuel map, the throttle response and the way the trans shifts among a few other things. Depending on how your drive, it will increases fuel economy but not but drastic amounts. It does make the car feel a bit sluggish when driving so you have to get used to it and drive it like a granny to get the fuel savings.

I'll have to double check on your 2012 Tucson but most cars have 2 lights. The "(!)" means one of the tires is low on pressure. The "TPMS" light goes on when there is a problem with the system.

----------

UPDATE: I was just reading page 4-46 of the 2012 Tucson owners manual and there is only one light for both. It reads:

The low tire pressure telltale illuminates when one or more of your tires is significantly underinflated.

The low tire pressure telltale will illuminate after it blinks for approximately one minute when there is a problem with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System. If this occurs, have the system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possible.
So if yours is blinking, then there is a problem with the system and not a low tire pressure. Take it back to the dealer for service.

Also see pages 6-7 thru 6-11 of your owners manual.

The Active ECO system is covered in Chapter 5 of the owners manual on page 5-40.
