Default 2007 Veracruz clunks

My Veracruz clunks when I slow down and stop. Has anyone had this problem? What was the problem and how was it resolved? My car has only 35000 m.

Has the transmission ever been servised? The fluid should be changed every 30,000 miles. It should have been changed 5,000 miles ago.

Default Transmission Clunking

My 2007 Veracruz and 2008 Veracruz Ltd have both done this...when slowing down at around 20mph it clunks down into the next gear. They updated the computer and it seemed to take care of the problem.

I previously owned a 2007 Veracruz in front wheel drive that did the same thing. It also seemed to have a problem with up-shifting too soon from 3rd to 4th when driving about 35 MPH on a slight incline. The dealership blamed the latter problem on towing, even though the problem existed before I ever towed with it. It was in & out of the dealership several times and they couldn't figure it out, so I just disregarded it because it ran fine otherwise. I've since traded the car in on a 2010 model in all wheel drive and have not encountered this problem on the new vehicle. (Sorry that's probably not much help to you.)

To add some more...

I put #174 ECM update into Veracruz yesterday, and went into auto trans update screen, and found it had a "T48" update open that was supposed to have been done before sale,,, so inspect all modules for available updates.

What Trans Update Screen are you referring to? Are you running your own diagnostic computer? If so, which one do you recommend that doesn't break the bank and can be used on other vehicles? This will be my first experience with diagnostics.

Thank you.
