Bad news. Cylinder 1 is on the firewall side of the engine under the intake plenum (AKA surge tank) and on the passenger side of the engine:

Firewall
1 - 3 - 5
2 - 4 - 6
Radiator

How many miles ?

That engine has IRIDIUM plugs in it, so go get some good NGK IRIDIUM to install..

Before you drop coin on the coil,,, take 1 of the coils from the exposed bank and put it in #1.. mark the #1 coil and install it to one of the exposed holes at front.. drive it, and see if the misfire follows to the hole where the coil now resides..

This is common way to test,, example seen in pic.. came in with 0306 --

Left the injector in #6 (too time consuming to swap)..

Moved to coil to #2

Moved the plug to #4

Test drive --> MIL --> P-0302 ---> coil fault

BTW -- Warranty paid my diag time, and I documented it with this pic and GDS prints attached to repair order.

81,000 miles, just had the head redone two months ago as poor workmanship from Hyundai as one of the head bolts had been torqued too tight and pulled out of the head. Hyundai would not cover any costs as I am the second owner with no warranty, $1700.00 later I am back on the road until I now have this issue. Can't seem to get a break,,,,,,,, Thanks to everyone for your help
