Rear catalytic convert advice
Hello fellow Veracruzers. My mothers 2010 automatic Hyundai Veracruz didnt pass emissions because of the rear catalytic converter. I was wondering if any one could give me some insight into how to replace it and the level of difficulty it requires. I looked on autozone at the part and was upset to see it wasnt as cheap as I was hoping it would be. Additionally if anyone is selling a rear converter that would be great. Thanks- Eli
Hi Eli,
A little side note or two,
The majority of the time when a catalytic converter goes south is because a misfire or overfuel condition exists or existed in the recent past.
Most will repair the apparent immediate condition and not be aware the converter has been damaged. So,,,,,,,,,,,,,make sure all is well because the replacement converter can be destroyed in short order.
Some states require a record be kept of all converters replaced and they do check on this probably to insure unnecessary or correct replacements are installed
