Default Rear cv axle replace-install - 2007 hyundai veracruz

Hello, i was told i have both rubber boots leaking in the rear. was told it is way better to replace the whole axle then to deal with misery with just changing boots.

So here i am asking for the a-z on how to accomplish this change-over?

thank you.

i will wait for reply.

When you have to ask, you most likely don't have the background and equip to do the job. Suggest you have a good shop handle the job.

There are times when it is really beneficial to prevent starting a job that could get us into deeper problems than providing partial assistance when it is too late to back out.

tHANK YOU hANKY. gREAT wISDOM AND ADVICE. You are right , i did a jury rig fix to daughters car, i drilled hole in boot. got a squeze tube of axle grease. squirted in inside. Then i appiied Gasket Sealer to hole. Spread it like a peanut butter sandwich. let it dry. i was finished. Jury rig will have to do for several more years.
Yes the real answer was in outer space and i was not going there.
\Good day.

Doug,
thanks for your compliment, however, even a clock is right 2 times a day.
As you are probably aware that is a short term fix and there may be a somewhat longer lasting fix.

Some parts stores sell a split boot that comes with adhesive, lubricant, clamps and maybe instructions. I have used one or two and they did the job until circumstances were a little better to do the job completely.. That axle might flip the sealant off once speed goes up. Suggest you check a few local auto parts supply stores , (NAPA, Advance,Rock Auto , etc) and see if they can help you with this. Hopefully this might give you a little piece of mind.

Thank you Hanky. i am satisfied for now. I will check it time to time just like a dipstick. I did see those split boots. had a hard time finding online for the Veracruz. Probably will do face to face in the future with my favorite local o'reilys. Came across two cars recently and was asked to check dipstick. I never found them. did research and found them to be on the dash going through the car menu and there it popped up. WOW! NEVER THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE A REGULAR THING FROM NOW ON? wOW.
