I've got 25,000 miles on the car and recently noticed that when I come to a stop or start out at a light, I hear sort of a quick "crunching" sound from the rear of car. Nothing much back there but the shocks. Anyone else notice anything similar? Most noticable when the car is cold, seems to be not as noticible after driving it a bit.

 

Actually, after listening more, the sound isn't from the rear shocks.... Sound is from front when I slow to a stop and start out and in drive. If I come to a stop with car in nuetral, doesn't make the noise. Starting to think it's a binding up sound from the transmission.....

 

Took the XG to the shop and it turns out it needed an engine mount replaced.... good as new.... crunching sound was torque movement of engine when coming onto or off of a stopped position.
