Check ENGINE LIGHT
Throwing code P0183 , "FUEL TEMPERATURE SENSOR,TERMINAL "A" IS INTERMITTANT" .......I have never heard of it. Anybody know what this is associated with? I am ussuming it will be on the fuel rail somewhere. Could have a loose or broken terminal
DESCRIPTION:
A new Fuel Temperature Sensor (FTS) has been introduced in the 2003 model year 2.4L and 3.5L Santa Fe, 2.4L Sonata and XG350. The new sensor measures fuel temperature in the fuel tank. The ECM uses this information for the Evaporative Emissions Self Check.
Fuel vapor pressure increases when fuel temperature increases. The ECM references the fuel temperature and indirectly compensates for the fuel vapor pressure during the evaporative emissions leak check. The FTS is located inside the fuel tank and is mounted to the fuel pump assembly.
The ECM can set Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) relating to the FTS:
- P0183 = Open Circuit, Signal voltage is greater than 4.6V
PART NUMBER INFORMATION:
- 31435-3B500 (Production Date 10/1/02 to 10/18/02)
- 31435-38300 (Production Date 10/19/02 to current)

I would have never guessed...I checked with the dealer and they say they do not carry this part. Would I have to purchase the entire fuel assembly to repair this? You seem to be very knowledeable with the Hyundai product. This is my first, I am a chevy Truck guy, but the rising fuel costs have forced me to park my tank. I am also getting a code for the KNOCK sensor, but off hand do not know the codes. 2 codes all together. My AIR BAG light also remains on.
