Question overhead lights come on when braking

2005 XG 350. Recently, my overhead lights come on when braking hard. Also, the open door light comes on. All the door contacts appear to be in proper working order but I did not remove them. Any suggestions?

Just for giggles, check the rear brake light bulbs (including the center mounted Dole light) and see if any are burned out.

All seem to be working properly. What was your thought?

I has to be a door switch, but as to which one might be hard to figure out. Try to loosen all the screws which hold the switches, then tighten them back up (but not too much).

It IS a door switch. I duct-taped all of them down and the problem stopped. Then I started pulling them off one by one. Driver door. There is no adjustment on the switch so I put multiple layers of duct tape on the door to assure that it is being pushed in. I'll get a new switch when I get a chance.

Thanks.

To be honest, I think I had a brain fart on this one. Working through the door switches was the smart move. Sorry to have wasted your time and I'm glad to hear you have the problem resolved.
