Default 2008 Tucson - no go

Our 2008 Tucson died today (13 April 2023). Here's some background - for the past few weeks the car has been sluggish and sometimes idles rough. Today it idled rough and when I accelerated it shuddered and faltered then died. I managed to get into a packing space but had to leave the car to take my dog to the vet. I returned about 40 minutes later. The car started alright but only after 10 minutes of running the shuddering began and then the car died again. Again I was able to just make it to a packing spot. The RACV guy came and checked a few things and suggested it might be the ignition coils. Had car trucked home and is in the driveway.
Questions: 1 Can I use a multimeter to check the ignition coils for continuity?
2. Is there another way to check the coils?
3. Could this be a blocked fuel filter? RACV guy sprayed WD40 into air intake but got no kick from engine.
Sorry for the long story - hope someone out there can help me.

The only time ign coils would be suspect is if all the coils lost power at the same time. That can be verified with a simple test light.

If we spray a flammable material into the intake and it still won't start,we can be reasonably sure there is no spark available to ignite the mixture in the combustion chamber.

If we are sure it is not getting any spark ,the crank sensor would be suspect They don't usually provide any codes and replacement is an option since without capable test equip that could be the likely culprit.
