2011 Santa Fe Wiper Motor & Wiper Switch
First time post. My 2011 Santa Fe with 98,000 miles was taken to dealer for the anti-theft recall in Dec 2024. Received a club for the steering wheel and something done around ignition switch. Went to use wipers and they didn't work for the first time since it was at the dealer, front and rear. Noticed a grommet around ignition switch had come off as well. Brought back to the dealer today and told them wipers not working after recall service was done, grommet came off. Will fix grommet, wanted to charge $199 diagnostic fee to check wipers, says couldn't have happened during recall service. Said fine fix the grommet. Dealer called and said as a courtesy, they checked and the front wiper motor and wiper switch are bad, rear motor works but not from switch. I inquired how both could go at the same time and he said shorted out. $1,000 to replace both. I checked the fuses and they appeared fine. I will investigate further on my own with test light and jumper wire. Anyone have similar problem with wipers not working suddenly, especially after the recall?
