Hello everyone,

I have a 2008 Tucson that locks automatically when I open the rear hatch door. This problem began a few months ago and at first occurred occasionally while lifting the rear door. Now it happens every time I open the rear door.

I am assuming that there is a short in the cables that go from the hatch to the main body of the car that triggers the automatic locking but before I start removing the protective rubber housing to inspect the cables, I thought I would check to see if anyone else has encountered and solved this problem.
