Hyundai i30 Auto Problem
Hi, Not sure where to post this so here goes.
I have a Hyundai i30 SE Waggon 2.0 litre auto transmission. I need to get a replacement gearbox. There seem to be many different variants for this model. Could anyone please point me in the right direction please. Like, what is it that I have to check to ensure that I get a compatible replacement.
Thanks

There should be a sticker on either the driver's side door or the door pillar.
On that sticker it should have the trans code for your vehicle. Once you have that info, you now know what you need to effect the simplest replacement.
You didn't provide a lot of important info like year engine etc. What is the problem with the original gearbox, would it be better to just have that repaired?

Hi, Thank you for your reply. I had lost my details to access this site.
I have a 2.0ltr petrol auto 2012 I30 CW.
There is a noise that varies with speed when under load. The faster I accelerate, the louder and faster the noise becomes. It is a drumming/rubbing noise.
I have been told that it is the gearbox and not a CVJ.
Thanks

You will be getting into quite a little project. Because of this , I would strongly suggest you get a few estimates and opinions before jumping the gun.
If it is only a guess, and you do or have all this work done and still have the problem, you will not be very happy.
