My first post, my first HYUNDAI!!
Hi Guys & Gals,
This is my first post (as you can guess from the post title), I have just brought a Hyundai Coupe 2.0se (1997)...
I have always liked coupe's and always wanted to own one, and now my dream has come true... I was wondering if you guys could tell me a couple of things?
1.) Did I pay too much?
1997, Hyundai Coupe 2.0 se
58,000 miles
full service history
tax till end of jan 06'
mot till november 06'
6 months full warranty
car is in mint condition (had a mecanic, and bodywork specialist look at it - both said it is in perfect condition)
I paid £2995.00
2.) What upgrades would you recommend to start me off? i.e. induction kit, full sports exhaust?
Thanks Guys & Gals
Cole

Cole,
Welcome aboard!!
Remember nothin' costs too much if YOU think it's worth it. There are many minor changes you can do to your Hyundai. I'd suggest you read other posts and see what others have done. What works and what things are problematic. Again welcome aboard and we're all glad you've joined us.

I think you got a good price for your car. I have owned 4 Hyundai's:
1989 Excel (234k miles when sold to a teen down the street)
1991 Elantra (+200 miles when traded in for....)
...1994 Sonata (150 miles when traded for.....)
...1997 Sonata (currently 178k miles and although an idle problem has brought me here, she is one damn good car!)
Despite popular opinion and some peoples complaints on this Maker of car, they have never experienced ANY transmission or Engine problems that required major work. Replacement of sensors is about all. And to note, I have had nothing but original parts in all my cars...no rebuilt engines, transmissions, etc.
I have my eye set on the 2006 Sonata, but not till next mid 2006 or late, when I can negotiate a little more off the asking price to make room for the 2007!
I hope you have as much dependability as I have had with mine.
Have fun with your dream car!
