I recently purchased a 2011 Sonata Limited, very good condition, it has a few issues and as I have for a number of vehicles I join a forum to get advice and experience with troubleshooting and repair of those problems I find I can fix myself. I look forward to soaking up what wisdom I can and sharing what I may be able to.

Thanks, I have used forums for information as a DIY repairman on many things. They have helped me save a lot of money doing repairs. I have above average mechanical abilities so I hope I will help as much as I get. I have to share that I purchased my 2011 Sonata about a month ago and the cruise switch had started to work internment. Lately. it has not been setting hardly at all. Using Google I see it is not an uncommon problem and was afraid I was looking at removing the steering wheel to replace the switch. I thought I would give the switches a good dose of WD40 to see if that would help. I grabbed a can and gave it several shots and worked the switches quite a bit. I took the car out and the switched started working! GREAT fix! When I started to put things away I looked and I had grabbed a can of CRC Turbo and Intake Valve Cleaner
Guess we will see what the long term effects of that will be? However. the cruise set and resume and cancel switches are working GREAT.

The CRC Intake Valve Cleaner is intended to remove the carbon deposits that occur on the intake valves of GDI engines and cause rough running. If you read the labels there are two methods of application."WatchJRgo" on Youtube tried it out on a high mileage Veloster with good success.
