hello all i have a 99 elantra with a little more than 230,000 miles on it and am just now needing to replace my first gasket.
its been a very good car ive had it since it was new and have always used factory parts and i have also worked at the dealership for about 7 years i have pretty good amount of knowlage about hyundai as ive worked in parts and service.
last week antifreeze started leaking from the engine and i found the head gasket leaking the water pump is still fine but i will replace it along with the timing belt and all the front engine seals other than this problem i have had 2 transmissions put in 1st one under warranty at 89,000 miles and the 2nd at 175,000 several sets of tires and only one brake job on the front the rear still has 4/32 of pad material left. ant that is the service history i cant complain about that in my view. this weekend i will be pulling the head off and hopefully it will be reusable. wish me luck.
