Poor heat

engine barely heats up has new thermostat fluid full temp gauge stays on cold after driving for awhile temp gauge goes up and i have some heat 2008 hyundai elantra

Some late models have electrically controlled thermostats and it would be very helpful if we knew the year and engine size, thanks.
