Popped my Hyundai cherry!
Hi all, My name is Jillian. I bought myself a white 2007 Sonata 1 week ago tomorrow. So far I love it! The 4 cylinder gls. I traded my baby a 98 plymouth breeze, she just had to go. I'm no stranger to the forums. I am on the stratusphere and s-series forums and have made a few good friends there. I am hoping to do the same here. I have minor plans for this car. Haven't done much research but I would like to start with an intake and rims, windows will be done next week. Looking to you guys for help with tech questions, suggestions etc. Also any aftermarketfeedback whats worked what hasen't. I'm a car girl. Yup I said it. Rebuilt my first 305 at 17. I never would have thought I'd be driving a Hyundai but i was really impressed and couldn't beat the value. So heres to a newstart, i'm looking forward to chatting with all of you!! Thanks.
P.S. HAPPY FRIDAY!
P.S. HAPPY FRIDAY!
Welcome to the forums. We can help you with questions you have about your car. This particular forum isn't the busiest one out there but it seems to be growing lately. Glad to have you aboard!
I test drove a 4-cylinder Sonata just for the heck of it, and it's a very impressive car. The engine is a lot more powerful than you would expect out of 4 cylinders, and it is a ROOOOMY car. I hope it treats you well. There are several people with Sonatas that post here, including one guy who had a bad experience with his; don't let him get you discouraged.
If you have any problems with dealer issues, you should know that Hyundai does not keep as tight a leash on their dealerships as other automakers, so there is some variation. I haven't had any problems at all with my dealers, so if you do have problems, my best recommendation is to look around until you find one that treats you right, if that is an option.
This is my first Hyundai as well (an 05 Elantra). After over 30,000 miles, it still looks and runs like new, and I know several people who have driven their Hyundais a looong time... over 200,000 miles in at least one case.

How far are you from the Poconos?

Looks like a Hyundai meet in August. I've been to a few meets and they can be a lot of fun, especially if they include a planned activity. Our last one was at a lake and someone brought a watercraft. The Poconos event includes go carts.
