i'v been thinking of buying my first new car.

been looking toward either the 2011 sonata or elantra.

wanting to get something with good mileage and i dont have to work on.

this would be my first foreign car.

my cars right now are:
1993 buick park avenue (290k+ miles) averaging 18 mpg
1998 mercury mountineer (188k+ miles) averaging 16 mpg
2001 ford expedition (185k+ miles) averaging 16 mpg

does anybody have either the sonata or the elantra (manual transmission on both)? what kinda mileage are you seeing?

so far leaning toward the sonata due to the bigger fuel tank and some of the more standard features.

both cars look beautiful also.

 

Either car will be better mileage than you got with your other cars. The Sonata is larger and has more standard features but also costs more. I'd suggest driving both and seeing which you like better.
