Default Tucson 1.6 GDi SE Nav

I am on the point of purchasing my first Hyundai. I took a 2019 model for a test drive 2 days ago and loved all the gadgets and kit that come as standard. My question for anyone who can help concerns the GDi 1.6L engine in the model I drove - it felt fine where I did the test drive - in a flat city with little or no inclines. However, where I live and do most of my driving there are many steep hills and inclines and I have read that this engine can feel underpowered and be not very economical in such environments. So I am wondering if anyone has owned such a model and has experience of driving it in similar surroundings.
Any thoughts and advice gratefully received.

There is always a trade-off involved,
If you want plenty of power , economy goes out the window.
If you get an economical engine system with a tubo , it can deliver better power than a naturally aspirated engine, but turbo can be troublesome sometimes and the expense to replace them is considerable. Don't forget a small engine has to work harder and doesn't last as long as a larger engine that doesn't have to work as hard.
