So I go a little impatient and pulled a bit hard when installing a new head deck on my 1996 excel

Both the temp, and the air control dials/***** popped off, and I can't seem to put them back on.

There is a "D" shape on the back of the dial that I've been lining up, but they don't seem to stay on no matter how hard I push.

Am I missing something simple here?

 

turned out the back of the hot/cold dial was still connected, so it wasn't sticking out enough for the dial to attach. It did click into place eventually.
