I have recently bought myself a 1998 Hyundai Excel. It has a problem that I am completely stuck on, it breaks the alternator belt quite regularly, I am replacing the belt every two weeks. I took it to my mechanic and he is slightly puzzled. There was a bit of crap caught up in the pulley of the alternator which he cleaned out and presto it broke another alternator belt. My mechanic noticed the pulley on the alternator has a slight amount of movement. Has anyone else had this problem with their 1998 excel?
