Default 1999 Excel model question

I was driving late at night and had to switch to FULL BEAM mode ... but having put full beam on i had to HOLD it there ... is this right? or is there a fault with the car i bought?

Other cars i have driven u can just put it in full beam and leave it there until i cancel it.

Oh on another note i posted a reques to see if someone can upload a manual for my 1999 Automatic twin cam Excel ... does anyone have one?

Many thanks

If you are pulling the blinker stalk towards yourself to engage the high beams, that position is for flashing the high beams and is spring loaded as you have found out. Push the stalk all the way forward to engage the high beams and then pull back to the center position for low beams.

This forum does not permit PDF uploads, only certain graphic files on a limited basis. An owners manual for the 1999 Accent (U.S. market version of the X3 variant of the Excel) is available at http://www.hmaservice.com/. When you setup an account, use "90210" as the postal code (code for Beverly Hills CA). Actually any U.S. postal code you wish to look up will work. Once you get logged in, select the "Shop" option. The next screen will have some tabs at the top, pick "OM". Then pick your model (Accent X3 in this case) and the year. A list of documents to the car will be dispayed including the owners manual. The site is designed for use with MS Internet Explorer.
