2001 Elantra control arm removal problem
I am about to replace both control arms on my 2001 Elantra. A nut INSIDE the beam is loose and now I am not supposed to remove the control arm....
Any suggestion how to proceed?
If I have to cut it loose. How will I fasten the "new" control arm?
(Regarding the poor control arms: The inspection man said during my last annual car inspection yesterday - "Sorry, you are not allowed to drive the car from here. Do not suffer from that. Instead be lucky you are alive....")

Sound like you are going to have to beg with Hyundai to extend the USA program to you, as your arms of same year are roted out and broken, and because of frame rot, you cannot simply change the arms, so they need to extend you a free frame also..
We get that occassionally.. we make sure the arm bolts will come out first, then we drill the frame... no sense in waste time drilling if arm mounting is broke inside the frame.. we give Hyundai back a frame with arm(s) attached..
