04 Hyundai Santa Fe 5 speed 2.4L / just shut down
Ok yesterday I started my car and started to drive home
When I turned on my lights the clock on dash went out the hole dash lost power, when I turned the lights off all the power came back so I went on home ... This morning I couldn't start my car so I rolled it down my drive and popped the clutch I was able to drive the dash was reading fine. I turned the lights on to see what would happen and the car cut off. Turned lights off car jumped right back on then died 100 foot later. Please some one help the car now has no power at all and battery is dead ASWELL

Its all about your battery.
Its either one of these or all of them:
- very bad post connections
- bad vehicle ground straps
- very low charge drained from sitting too long
- alternator not working properly
- battery is flip over and truly die !!!! Most likely of more than 3 years old
Meter the voltage across the battery, before starting (should be > 12DC
& with engine running 14VDC or more but not less than 13.8VDC
If you're getting that at least its being charged.
Shut if off and clean the posts and lugs that go on the post so that they are shinny. Test again as above but this time with a meter across the battery. Turn on lights, the blower, then rear defogger, stereo etc. The voltage should be 13.8 or higher as you increase the load. If the battery is bad it will go down more and electrical noise from the alternator increases which will confuse the computer with the DC ripple.
OR
Just go out and buy a high cranking quality battery but still need to clean the battery cable connections.
