Hyundai has a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) in the output of the transmission
And it has an Anti-lock Brake System Sensor (ABS) at the right front wheel
The two inputs are compared in the ECU to determine
if the vehicle is actually going at the correct speed or not.
If not then the ECU will put the powertrain into Limp Home Mode.

So, the inputs are also used to determine speed for the speedometer
And to determine miles traveled. The odometer information is then stored in the ECU
In the form of magnetic flux ... much like in a hard drive or EEProm.
Since you do not have a limp home mode issue, your sensors are okay??

If you have a working speedometer and no odometer display
Then it would probably mean that the ECU is receiving the mileage info
cause the speedometer is working.
This would simply mean the display is not working.
It can be caused by no power to the display or bad grounds
Or the communication link from the ECU to the display on the instrument cluster is broken.
Either way, if you wish to repair this issue then you will need an understanding of electrical circuits and a schematic for your car.

My first step would be just to check all the fuses first.
And hope it is just a fuse.
Don't like tearing out the dash to get to the instrument cluster.
Too much work and it almost never goes back in exactly the same.
And then the fault may be some where else???

Good luck.

Default odometer not works 2

thanks AVISITOR....i do not mentioned that check engine lights and scanner say 0500 code. also 1529, 134 and 154. think are related with the fault. I have a cluster different that I have in the car, mine have 4 plugs and one I bought have 3. noticed when I see the one installed in my 2001 santa fe.
Question, can I change the display or odometer only from one cluster to another? desoldering and soldering the new one, hope works one new, this said B07 ZG2 and one installed in my car said B07 WFK, any difference ? can use it? sorry for my many questions, please help me. I like to have the check engine off, and have my car working good. thanks anticipated.

The P1529 is a tranny request for the ECU to turn on the malfunction indicator light.
One would have to use a better type of scan tool to scan the TCM to find the diagnostic code

The P0134 and P0154 are codes that the heated O2 sensor is not giving any activity
Possible causes are
1. faulty sensor
2. open or short in wiring harness
3. poor electrical connection

The P0500 is for a faulty Vehicle speed sensor.
Possible causes are
1. failed vehicle speed sensor
2. open or short in the wiring harness
3. damaged vehicle speed sensor drive gear
4. poor electrical connection

As for the swap of instrument clusters, I don't know.
I am no expert. Just trying to help if I can. Sorry.
