Default OBD2 Error Code P2034

Hi Everyone,

I've had my engine management light coming on for a while now on my 2009 Tucson. I've had it into a local garage to get the problem checked out and was given the all clear and light off but the light has come back on. I have now bought myself a usb OBD2 and am able to view and clear the code myself.

Anyways the code that i am getting is:
P2034 - Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 2

Has anyone had any experience with this error code or tell me what this means and more importantly how i can stop it coming back? Does something need replaced?

Cheers

Sean

Chances are the O2 Sensor is going bad. The Heater circuit is built in. It heats the Sensor to get an accurate reading when the engine is cold.

Most of the Code Readers are just that. Not an actual Scan Tool. And doesn't show Engine Data while running.

Incorrect.

V6 engine:
Bank 1 is the side of the engine closer to the firewall.
Bank 2 is the side of the engine closer to the radiator.

All engines:
Sensor 1 is the O2 sensor before the cat.
Sensor 2 is the O2 sensor after the cat.

I have attached a diagram of the oxygen sensors that should help you locate them on the vehicle. The diagram is for the 2.7L engine and before buying anything I would suggest sending me the VIN to check fitment.

If your need anything in the diagram you can reference the part numbers and callout numbers below:

LH: 39210D, 39210-37543: SENSOR ASSEMBLY - OXYGEN (O2) LEFT ( LEFT HAND ) made by Hyundai. #3921037543

RH: 39210E, 39210-37523: SENSOR ASSEMBLY - OXYGEN (O2) RIGHT ( RIGHT HAND ) made by Hyundai. #3921037523

LH: 39210F, 39210-37533: SENSOR ASSEMBLY - OXYGEN (O2) LEFT ( LEFT HAND ) made by Hyundai. #3921037533

RH: 39210G, 39210-37513: SENSOR ASSEMBLY - OXYGEN (O2) RIGHT ( RIGHT HAND ) made by Hyundai. #3921037513
